- Decadent Desserts: Sweet endings included the stunning malabi pudding—a delightful surprise for many—and the tiramisu, which Devon boldly claimed to be the best she had ever tasted.

Couscous: the food so nice, they named it twice. Lionel's captured some tasty flavor combinations in his couscous bowls. Excited to go back and enjoy more hospitality.
I was very proud to see our traditional couscous in LA. The place is very friendly we feel like we’re at home. Honestly, it’s the best couscous I have eaten after my mom’s one. Thanks a lot Lionel. It was a pleasure to meet you. Whenever I come to LA I will come to eat this delicious couscous.
The best couscous I have ever had. This is an incredible place that I had just happened to walk by one day. You get so much delicious food for the price. Everyone must check this place out asap. A new favorite. Will be coming back everyday if I could.
The French dip place nearby was closed and I could not resist the fragrant aroma coming from this restaurant. I stopped inside and was amazed. The prices are astoundingly reasonable for downtown LA. They're even more reasonable if you are a vegetarian. You have your choice of couscous, quinoa, yellow rice, or a combination of each. The veggie assortment blew my mind. Braised cabbage, roasted golden beets, zucchini, carrots, fennel and another type of squash. All deliciously seasoned. Several meat choices, including grilled lamb sausages, I chose the roasted beef meatballs and was not disappointed in their rich meaty flavor. They top all of that off with a vegetable broth, plain or spicy. The spicy was the right amount of heat for a dude who has a threshold at habanero. The place is clean, the dude at the counter was friendly and accommodating to me as a first time customer. If you are a vegetarian or just trying to eat healthy, I recommend giving this place a try!
Delicious inexpensive couscous with perfectly spiced meats and cooked vegetables in a small cozy place. Lionel, the owner, is super nice. Definitely will be coming back.
If you are in to dolmas, exotic rices, and most specifically Cous Cous, Palikao is the best in Los Angeles! We have known and worked with Palikao for years and he and his team have always curated the most incredible beautiful spreads of authentic Middle eastern food from the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. Also, Palikao's company can handle any scope of event you might need. Award after parties, luxury house parties in the Hollywood Hills to on-set catered wrap parties. He brings it together with multileveled tastes and will always be my go-to when I am craving something special for our Hollywood Parties.
This place is a lot more than meets the eye. Don't get me wrong, it's a neat, attractive storefront, and it seems like your standard Mediterranean food at first glance. But this place has a lot of nice blend with French and Algerian influence. I got a pita with chicken tangine which had a nice depth of flavor alongside vegetables and sauces. The pita was unbelievably warm and fluffy. Truly my only disappointment is they can't make beds out of their pita.
I found this place thru MealPal and have really enjoyed their vegetarian selections. Their spices are unique and aromatic. The combinations of vegetables and their light, fluffy couscous in their delicious broth is nutritious, easy to digest, filling, yet not greasy. It's a satisfying, healthy meal that tastes special. I am a regular now.
Palikao catered our son's bar mitzvah luncheon last weekend for about 120 guests in Pasadena, and Lionel's (owner/head chef) brilliant flavors and presentation far exceeded our wildest dreams. Lionel worked with us on a vegetarian menu (because of the temple's Kosher rules) and he came up with a menu that was so gorgeous, unique and delicious that we had multiple guests come tell us it was the best catered meal they'd ever had. His combination of French, middle eastern and Mediterranean flavors made the meal so special. His eggplant and beat salad were refreshing. The baby potato salad with harissa lemon cilantro sauce was filling, and with the right balance of citrus and spice. The fruit platter was the most gorgeous display I'd ever seen. The shakshuka with quail eggs was brilliant. And the deserts...were out of this world. The malabi pudding was a surprise, I'd never eaten it before and it was incredible. The tiramisu was undoubtedly the best tiramisu I've ever eaten in my life. Lastly, Lionel and his team were just so wonderful. If was kind of by fate that we were introduced to him and Palikao, and his kindness, graciousness and sweetness made our special event even more spectacular.
